Line Assignment
For the second msting, as the script editor, I assigned lines in the following fashion:
(1) A few lines had already been requested/volunteered (Cameo, cows) (2) Dialogue between riffers went to Tina and me. (3) Certain runs should go to the same person/people (ole, bad marriage) (3) Tina, Matt and Jazz having seniority got approximately the same number of lines. Well, actually, jazz came on as an "extra" performer, but my email to the performer sort of ignored that status. (4) Arch came on as an "extra extra" performer and wasn't fooled by my email, so he gets screwed. (5) When there's a lot of room for performers to interpret, Writers get there own lines. (I really don't want this one getting written in stone. I think we need to be able to write for others, and get others to make their lines clear enough for us to perform) (6) Some lines have some degree of gender specificity, throwing them to or away from Tina. (7) Matt and Jazz didn't beg off singing, so somehow, they seem to have gotten the least musical lines. (8) Avoid the same riffer having multiple lines in a row, or getting too dense in any one spot. Line trading will undo some of this, but by keeping the problem to a minimum here, trading shouldn't push it to a bad level. (9) Rotate lines. (10) I like ANNOUNCER lines.
Better ideas are welcome.
