The Sci Fi Channel started airing Babylon 5 in September of 2000. It soon became an event that attracted a dedicated core group of Cappers to it day after day. Several Cappers who were part of that group were alexgariepy, GlitterRock, Beedo, YingYang, Mr_Grant, EnochF, PrezGAR, MrAtomik and UnReality, to name a few. With very few exceptions, that group was present for the entire first-run of all five seasons as well as the TV-movies. A majority of them stayed on for the second-run as well, but after that the numbers began to dwindle away.

With having that many familiar faces appearing day after day with the same material, a number of running gags grew for Babylon 5-capping itself.
