Capping

That act or practice of adding captions (usually of some humorous value) to an image. An addiction to some, a past-time to many, and not to be confused with the art of capturing video for digital distribution (also referred to as "Capping").

The particular strain of capping and cappers of interest here started at the now defunct Caption This!, but it has now spread to many other venues. Most of the capping that goes on these days is attached to grabs from movies (feature or 'industrial') and tv shows, though all sorts of images are used, such as news photos, comic books, and dental x-rays.
