The old west version of . . . OF THE FUTURE!!!. Basic example, a western movie being shown and you're given an image of three ladies: "Charlie's Angels.....of the oooooold West". Supposed to give the impression of being said by an old cowboy, prospector, or a Gabby Hayes type person; the phrase would be ideally voiced by gravel-voiced Western actor Pat Buttram.
This was also originated by the Mystery Science Theater 3000 gang, ie "Foot Fetishists of the Ooooooold West" (Frank in "Last of the Wild Horses").
