Personal info
I'm a guy. I wear glasses. I love obscure refs to pop culture. I consider myself a mediacologist because "spermologist" (look it up somewhere) sounds like a gay thing. I cap without many caps because I don't really know how to type. I have no idea how to edit this page. I don't understand HTML. I don't have kids either. But i don't mind one now and then with a nice salad and an ice cold Dr. Pepper.
I'm none too good with the dates and stuff but it goes like this:
I got into MST3K at my sister's house during season one. Comedy Central was called The Comedy Channel at the time and strange creatures roamed the Earth. One of my nephews had told me about this show with a guy and two robot puppets making fun of bad movies in a theater on a space ship. I thought he had gone insane.
Lo and behold I saw about the last 45 minutes of one while channel surfing one night and my head almost exploded! There were people actually getting paid for what I was doing sitting on the couch doing for free every night! After one of the commercials the show came back and it turned out that the guy was Joel Hodgson, a really weird stand up comedian that I had seen on several talk shows and doing his thang on SNL.
I was hooked.
Then HA! and The Com Chan merged, the continents drifted, and The Brains moved to Sci-Fi. I was checking out the site and started capping as "delany", the guy I was when I first started going on line. Sometimes I was "drunkenhousecat". I didn't cap all that much for a couple of years. One night I just kind of fell into the rhythm, got really hyped about it, started capping more often, and then Sci-Fi killed it.
Years passed and I Googled myself (being careful to wash my hands after) and found that some capper had saved a bunch of the Caption This! pages with himself on them. A couple of those pages have me on them too, just by chance. I posted the links in my LIVEjournal and the guy tracked me and said that he was going to try to start his own capping site. I freaked out, Googled "capping", and, after checking a few pages about "crapping", having spelled it wrong the first time (hence the handwashing) I ended up here.
Everybody has been very cool to me and I plan on bothering folks with my lame ass sense of humor for quite a while. This place rocks like The Ramones.
Speaking of Joel: I was lucky enough to get tickets to one of the tapings of "The TV Wheel" thanks to my other nephew. It was amazing. One night watching my cheap shit copy of it that I taped in two head mono EP I noticed my laugh! The one that was on was the one that I went to! If I hadn't of been drunk I would have gone insane.
