This running gag was pretty much exclusive to a show called 'The Sentinel' on the SciFi Channel, back in the glory days of Caption This!. The Sentinel himself was kind of a balding Big McLargeHuge type, but he had this sidekick that had long curly hair, a questionable sense of fashion, and a special aura of 'dudeness'. The cappers dubbed the sidekick 'Dudeman', and the majority of the jokes were about Dudeman's proclivity to be a hippie stoner rather than do whatever his job was helping out the Sentinel. In a short time, Dudeman became the main focus for capping 'The Sentinel'. Surely, if you remember capping 'The Sentinel' on SciFi, you will have fond memories of Dudeman.
