"On the International Space Station, Day [number]" was originated by Mr_Grant for use with any establishing shot of the Babylon 5 station. The caption always began with "On the International Space Station, Day [number]," thus the name. Humor was derived from speculation about mundane problems typical to life on a space station, such as close physical quarters, personal hygiene, and cabin fever. Personality conflicts, gossip and insults were also frequent themes.
